| Message from the Chairman
Thank you very much for visiting HKSAS's website and the
support you have given us all these years! At the beginning
of the Year of Rooster, allow me to wish you good health and
good fortune in the new year!
Founded in 1957, HKSAS has been in operation for almost half
a century. Throughout these years, with the support from different
sectors of the community, we've been serving children in needs
wholeheartedly. At present, the scope of our services has
been extended to cover a mainstream primary school, a special
school for children with emotional and behavioural problems,
a nursery, small group homes and a number of large hostels
for children and youths.
The past few years saw HKSAS's active engagement in exploration
of new service horizons. In June 2004, we launched the large-scale
Operation Tin Shui Wai bringing care and concerns to this
remote community. In November of the same year, we took the
initiative to re-deploy resources of two small group homes
for the opening of Foster Care Service. These new service
programmes reflect our efforts in this direction.
Looking ahead, we'll continue to divert our efforts and energy
towards making HKSAS a quality and efficiency driven multi-service
organization. To this end, we are after a governance model
of transparency. Through empowerment and delegation of authority,
we wish to make the good use of our manpower and resources
for the greatest possible output.
Lastly, let me thank you once again for your encouragement
and support! May I assure you once again that HKSAS will always
work to the best of herself in exploring new service areas
best suiting needs of the Hong Kong community. With a genuine love
and caring for the children under our care and a true passion
for life, we'll work hard in shaping a even brighter future
for our children!
